ROC United has joined a coalition of restaurant workers and workers’ rights groups to file ballot language that seeks to eliminate the subminimum wage for tipped workers and raise the minimum wage to $12/hr in Michigan. Once the state finalizes the ballot language, we’ll set our sights on gathering the necessary signatures for placement on the statewide ballot.
We are honored to have two legendary actresses, Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin on our side! They will join us for a series of fundraising and public education events in Detroit, Grand Rapids, and Ann Arbor this week. Fonda and Tomlin will speak out about the need for One Fair Wage in Michigan, and the importance of amplifying the voices and perspective of those who work in the restaurant industry in Michigan.
