1) Crazy things happen constantly, particularly at the restaurant I’m currently working in. Just a few weeks ago, a man had a heart attack in our bathroom, and a coworker resuscitated him for 20 minutes until EMS arrived. That probably tops the list, but needless to say, it’s always an adventure. 2) I support raising the tipped minimum wage because I’ve been living off it for over a decade and my life only gets harder. We rely on the generosity of others – and luckily, being good at my job has me fed and all – but a bad day or a slow week can make or break you. Even just a two dollar difference would cover taxes and make our lives a little easier. 3) Living Off Tips is a struggle that defines and bonds an entire industry, and it’s time to make a change.
