I work at a steakhouse 4 nights per week. I am married mother of 2 young children. I work at night so I don’t have to pay for daycare. I make $2.13 an hour plus tips. We have “contests” at work. If I don’t win, I must do extra side work like cleaning duties and stocking (this is because I didn’t sell enough food or drinks that shift). If a customer does not tip me enough, I have to pay the restaurant 3% of the bill to tip out bussers and hostesses. So, I end up losing money.
